Red Tail Reborn Again

On February 16, 2017, the Commemorative Air Force‘s P-51B “Tuskegee Airmen” flew again after sustaining heavy damage in a 2016 accident.  This was quick work and it is great to see the aircraft in the air again.  As noted on my P-51 Mustang page, the CAF P-51B is one of the most notable touring World War II aircraft, both because of the rarity of the sub-variant and the message it carries about the progress and struggle of blacks Americans.  Well done!

74 Staggerwings!

I have been building out the Beech Model 17 Staggerwing page on this site, and it now depicts 74 different Staggerwing airframes.  Check out this gallery of Walter Beech’s first great solo masterpiece.
