Aero Commander

Aero Commander was an aircraft manufacturer based in California and Oklahoma from 1944 until 1958, when it was acquired by Rockwell International.  Its manufacturing facilities were near Oklahoma City.  It is known for one outstanding design, a series of twin-engined utility and passenger aircraft that were inherited and continued to be produced by Rockwell.  As a division of Rockwell, Aero Commander also assumed responsibility for some designs acquired by Rockwell from other manufacturers, but since those were not originated by Aero Commander, they are described on the Rockwell page.
