Arado Flugzeugwerke’s origins are complex, but it was organized by 1925 as a builder of sport and training airplanes and, when Germany began designing military aircraft, fighters and observation planes.  Arado aircraft generally were clean, modern designs of conventional construction.  Most models were readily identified by a tall, narrow vertical tail having a straight leading edge and an elliptical rudder.  Arado was dissolved with the end of hostilities in 1945 and never reconstituted.
