The Waco MF series of 1934 was perhaps the company’s most classic 3-seat open-cockpit biplane. It was the second generation “F” series Waco, following the 1930 NF series and preceding the PF series. The MF cemented Waco’s reputation for solid, honest-flying, versatile aircraft.
The YMF was put back into production in the 2010s as the YMF-5 by WACO Classic Aircraft, a company unaffiliated with the original Waco that acquired the rights to the design and made several improvements to make the airplane suitable for the modern enthusiast.
This 2011 new-build YMF-5 is with the Owls Head Transportation Museum.
